Dear Moon,

Dear Moon, is a collective exhibition and an invitation to the viewer to linger in darker spaces, the space in between us and the moon. When the moon is a point of departure, where do we arrive?

We asked artists from multiple disciplines to explore the moon. This is what they felt.

The artists’ collective works are a mosaic, pieces that honor both the dark and the bright side of the moon, embodying the moon’s fullness. The ideas and feelings of night as a breeder of iniquity often take precedence to the calm that the moon provides us.

Traveling through celestial spaces has always been an anthropogenic aim. The moon has been of anthropocentric interest and symbolism for millennia. She has been a beacon of light and guided our travel and movement.
Theologians, astrologers, and physicians alike have looked to the moon for cosmic guidance and timeless answers. Indigenous philosophies around the world view the moon as the mother of the Earth, the grandmother of humanity.

The oceans bow down. She regulates the cycles of life, she is the heart that is beating life into our universe. When we look at the moon from this aspect, when we enter this territory, we are faced only with how we connect to the darkness and to the light.

The exhibition features works composed of entirely different mediums. Acetate, ceramics, paper, and photos are curated to offer the viewer with a deeply personal, panoptic interpretation and attunement to the power of the moon.
